⚰️ Job Purpose (What You Will Do)
The successful candidate will be responsible for mortuary support services and handling of corpses within hospital procedures, including:
📦 Receiving & Documentation
- Receiving and registering corpses within the institution
- Recording corpse details accurately in official registers
- Ensuring identification tags match records
❄️ Storage & Maintenance
- Placing corpses in cold storage facilities
- Checking fridge temperatures daily
- Ensuring correct storage shelf allocation
- Completing mortuary (TPH) registers
🧾 Administration & Audits
- Assisting with audits of corpse length of stay
- Maintaining accurate mortuary records
- Reporting issues to supervisors
⚰️ Preparation & Release
- Preparing bodies for viewing and post-mortem
- Assisting with pauper’s burials
- Supporting identification procedures
- Releasing bodies to families or undertakers
🧼 Hygiene & Equipment Care
- Cleaning mortuary facilities and equipment
- Ensuring infection control compliance
- Reporting faulty equipment
🎓 Minimum Requirements
- ABET qualification (Grade 1–9)
- No experience required
- Basic understanding of:

- Public Service Act
- Patient rights
- Customer care standards
- Medico-legal procedures
